Inspector Renée Perkins
Kāpiti Mana Area Commander
Renée grew up in Kāpiti Mana and now has the privilege of being Police Area Commander for the region. Her whakapapa spans England, Ireland, Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, Rangitaane, and Muaūpoko iwi.
Renée has been in Police over 25yrs. She has a broad range of experience including front line, close protection, road policing, training, Justice Sector liaison, and advisory roles in the offices of both the Commissioner and Minister of Police. In 2019, she completed the degree of Master in Māori and Indigenous Leadership, at Canterbury University, where she had the opportunity to travel to Alaska and Hawai’i to visit and learn within indigenous communities as part of her studies. Renée’s belief is that collective wisdom brings unity and strength “ma tini ma mano ka rapa te pai – many hands make light work”. Renee is also a mum, daughter, sister, homeopath, yoga teacher and life-long student.
